At Kendall Law Group LLC, we believe in giving back to the communities we serve. We are proud to support several local Bar Associations, including the Johnson County Bar Association. Recently, we had the honor of co-sponsoring their “Celebrate the 10th District Court” event. This event provided a wonderful opportunity to recognize the hard work and dedication of our local judiciary while fostering a sense of community among legal professionals and residents alike.

Our commitment to community involvement goes beyond mere sponsorships. We actively participate in events and initiatives that strengthen our local communities, promote justice, and support the professional development of our fellow attorneys. Whether through educational programs, charitable events, or legal advocacy, Kendall Law Group LLC is dedicated to making a positive impact.

We invite you to learn more about our community efforts and join us in supporting these meaningful initiatives. Together, we can make a difference.

2021 Wayside Waifs’ Strutt With Your Mutt

Our team had a blast participating in Wayside Waifs’ 2021 Strutt With Your Mutt! Stutt With Your Mutt is Kansas City’s largest dog-friendly and dog-centered walk/run event and all proceeds are used to provide comprehensive care to homeless animals such as life-saving medical care, safe shelter, nutritious food and love.

Wayside Waifs is committed to finding homes for all adoptable pets and is the largest no-kill pet adoption campus in Kansas City. The year’s event raised a total of $137, 482.72!

As an event sponsor, it was so fun meeting all the participants and their “Mutts.” We look forward to seeing everyone there next year.

For October 2021, Wayside Waifs is offering half-price adoption. They have so many lovable available pets. Check them out here.

Rescue Me! – Animal Adoption and Protection Organization

Kendall Law Group is passionate about pets.  Animal protection and welfare is a cause that is near and dear to our hearts. Unfortunately, in the summer of 2021, the firm’s managing partner lost a long-time friend and trusted companion, Buddy, a Wheaten Terrier. Buddy lived to the ripe old age of 13 and was initially adopted by the Kendall Family from a deceased client’s family. Today, the Kendall Family includes an elder Bich-Poo, Louie, George, a young Brittany Treeing Walker Coonhound mix and grand-dog Hazel, a two-year-old Lab mix.

George, who was adopted in the winter of 2021, was the last surviving member of his litter.  The Kendall Family assisted him through rehabilitation after suffering from parvo.  George was located through RescueMe! and has overcome his parvo and difficulties walking and now enjoys running around his backyard, sniffing flowers, chasing bees and playing with Hazel and other neighborhood pets.

Unless they are animal enthusiasts, most people are unaware of the staggering rates of homeless pets or other issues related to animal welfare.  Did you know that only 1 out of every 10 dogs born in this country will find a forever home?  Many animals are given up by their owners or picked up by animal control on the streets. Sadly, every year approximately 2.7 million dogs and cats are euthanized due to overcrowded shelters. In addition, more than 7.6 million companion animals are left at animal shelters in the U.S. and only 2% of missing cats and 15 to 20% of missing dogs are reunited with their families.

Only 10% of animals taken in by shelters have been spayed or neutered, resulting in overpopulation and many strays are lost pets who were not wearing proper identification.  In the U.S., there are approximately 3,500 animal shelters and 10,000 rescue groups and sanctuaries. In addition, it is estimated that 34% of dogs are purchased from breeders, while only 23% are adopted from a shelter or humane society.

People give up their pets for many reasons, the most prevalent being behavior issues, aggressive behavior, larger-than-expected size and health problems. There are several humane societies and pet protection agencies in the Kansas City Metro. These agencies are in constant need of adoptions, foster parents, donations, volunteers, food, toys and treats.
